I’ve Been Busy…

Well, THE DAY is fast approaching. It’s only about 3 weeks away. And, the anxious part of it all, I feel like I still have so much to prepare before the wedding day.

I’ve not been blogging for weeks because I’ve been busy over the weekends (especially) to get things done. Why only weekends you ask. That’s because it’s the only time that I see Alan and both of us can go around to settle things.

In fact, we just had our food tasting this afternoon. The food was nice and satisfying. We changed a few stuff and hopefully, it’ll turn out well on the wedding dinner too. I was surprised at how young the chefs are. I was actually expecting someone above 40s with big belly but it was 2 nice looking fit chefs walking in to get our comments from the food we’ve eaten.

Hhhmmm… maybe I can introduce my single girl friends to them? Hahahaha….I’m sure they wouldn’t mind to have a bf/partner who knows how to cook so well. :)

Okay, I gotta get running to head out. Alan is not feeling well and I hope he gets better soon so we can continue with the wedding preparation.

Changes…

I dunno why but I think some people just like or enjoy making things difficult for others.

Some people don’t understand the importance of certain things and think more for the convenience to them.

Some people don’t understand or appreciate the trouble that others have gone through to get things prepared and done.

I guess all I can do is keep praying and pray that God will guide us through all this and eventually things will work out fine.

All I can do is hope and pray for the best…

Invites

The invitation cards are finally done!! :)

Soon we’ll be sending out the invites by hand and post. So, keep a look out for the mail man! ;)

Wedding Favours

After spending many hours (and I mean MANY MANY hours), Alan and I have finally agreed on our wedding favours.

We went scouting around today and confirmed it. Of course, what the wedding favour is won’t be revealed here until the wedding take place.

I’m so glad that one more from the list of things to do can be strike off now. Phew!!!

It’s Just Around The Corner

In just a blink of an eye, it is now just 3 months before the wedding day. I’m beginning to stress and panic. At times, not even able to sleep well cos my mind is just anxiously thinking about what needs to be done still.

So far, we’re pretty much on schedule. The invitation cards are being printed this very moment. Our pre-wedding photo shoot is done and now just waiting to see how they turn out. Hopefully we’ll get to see them in another 2 weeks or so.

In 2 weeks time, my chee muis and I will be heading to Langkawi for a break. It’s been a long delayed group holiday and finally, there’s an occasion where all of us are able to make time for it. I’m looking forward to the trip and there’ll be another bride-to-be in the same group too. My good friend, Hui Ping, is also getting married this November (2 weeks before mine). So, according to Chinese ‘pantang’, we’re not allowed to attend each other’s wedding, which is a real bummer.

The thing we’re now working on is the wedding favors and the march-in song. It’s so hard to decide on a good song to march-in with. Hopefully, Alan and I can make up our mind soon.

Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot @ Langkawi

We were offered a very good package by Pretty In White to have our pre-wedding shoot at Langkawi.

So, on 30th July 2008, Alan and I flew to Langkawi for our photo shoot. We stayed at Berjaya Langkawi & Spa Resort located at Pantai Kok. We managed to also get an additional wedding photographer to go to Langkawi with us. His name is Adam Yang, one of the photographer with Front Page Studio.

When we arrived at the resort, we took some time to check out the resort and find good places to shoot. All 3 of us had a fun and hot time checking out the resort.

Our photoshoot with PIW is to take place on 31st July with photographer Fui Yao from Exes Studio. Without wasting much time, we headed to Kuah Town to look for Darling Florist (located next to the Bangunan Tabung Haji @ Langkawi Mall). I managed to get 2 beautiful bouquets for a very reasonable price. Thanks a lot to Annie (the shop owner). I totally love the bouquets. If anyone wants to get flowers at Langkawi for their photo shoot or wedding, I recommend Darling Florist.

After getting the bouquets sorted out, we rushed back to the hotel to get ready and prepare to catch the sun set for the photo shoot.

On 31st July, bright and early, Fui Yao and Eddie met us at Berjaya Langkawi. Eddie was my make-up artist. He did a good job and very fast as well. After getting ready, we head over to some locations to start shooting. Alan was sweating already the minute we stepped out from our chalet.

So, after the session with Fui Yao, it was then time to take our pictures with Adam. For our session with Adam, we decided to head out from the resort and just drive around looking for nice locations to shoot our pictures. And believe me, by the end of the day, all 3 of us were so tired and exhausted.

Thanks to Fui Yao, Adam and Eddie for job well done. Now, Alan and I are just anxious to look at the results from the photoshoot.

I enjoy becoming a wedding planner for my own wedding. It’s an experience of a lifetime to decide THE gown, flowers, invitation cards, decorations and many others.

However, besides deciding on all these pretty things, I hate to admit that I do not like the parents to parents discussion i.e. dowry. I know, in this modern century now, some people don’t ask for dowry anymore. The meaning to that - they are not selling their daughter.

I never understand why the parents of the bride & groom cannot understand that wedding is a happy occasion to plan. Why do the parents have to make things difficult for the bride & groom? I know many couples experience this - sadly to say, I’m also one of them.

I just wish parents can be more understanding on all this. After all, they’ve been through the process before. But, what I know, from what I’m experiencing now, when it comes to my children getting married, I’ll definitely be more understanding.

Date Set for ROM

This morning, Alan and I took some time off work to head to Putrajaya Registration Office to submit our application for marriage registration.

We didn’t have to wait long - our turn was next in line. Just as we were about to take a seat, the buzzer rang, calling our number. Earlier, we have decided to have our ROM on 31 May, however, Putrajaya Registration Office doesn’t perform registration ceremony on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Right then, we decided to have our ROM a day earlier, which is 30 May. We were couple No. 9 on the list for that day. According to the officer, they only perform maximum of 15 registration in a day. Hopefully, we don’t have to wait in queue for too long on 30 May.

Now, another month plus… I’ll be Mrs. Ang.

:)

ROM Dress

Last week, as I was checking out Tangs sale at Pavillion, I found a dress that I fell in love with for my ROM (Registry Of Marriage). As I was rushing for time, I did not try on the dress but decided to go back to Tangs a few days later with Alan.

Fortunately for me, my next trip to Tangs with Alan, the dress was still there and they have it in my size. To top it all, I got it on 50% off.

I’m so happy with my purchase. :D

Pre-Wedding - Confirm

I took half a day off work today to go to Pretty In White (PIW) with Alan to confirm on our pre-wedding package.

After scouting around a few bridal houses, I decided that PIW have the gowns that I want and like. I’m so happy that another task is done.

Soon, we’ll be meeting up with the photographer to decide where and when to take our pre-wedding shoot.
